One of the major reasons for procrastination with workouts is our mental model. We see workouts as time consuming and physically exhausting. Once we find ways to come out of this model, things become much easier. Here are 3 ways I found very effective, probably they will help you too.
7-Minute Workouts
I started with 7-Minute workouts about 2 months back. I average about 3-4 times a week and find it really effective.
- As the name says, it doesn’t take more than 7 or 8 minutes to finish this set of workouts
- The benefits are backed by research
- It consist of a series of exercises that train almost all parts of the body, performed in quick succession
- No equipments are needed except for a chair, which is heavy enough to hold your weight
You can read more about 7-Minute workouts here and in NYTimes Blog . You need nothing more than the needed inspiration and about 10 minutes of your day.
Walking
Walking is a relatively easy physical activity for anyone who dread running. Once you are comfortable with walking at moderate speed, switch to brisk walking. This is a moderate cardiovascular activity with low impact. But you must do it more often than running to get similar benefits – something like 4-5 day a week.
