I haven’t been on Facebook for 2 Weeks. What am I doing?
Couple of months back, I reduced my Facebook time to twice a week. Then I made it once a week and for the last 2 weeks I haven’t been on Facebook. What the hell am I doing?
Here is what my current Internet consumption looks like.
I spend about 30 minutes a day on Google Newsstand, where I subscribe to a handful of sites that matter to me. Quartz, NDTV, Huffington post, Al Jazeera and Techcrunch are a few to mention. I use the Digg reader to subscribe and read some quality blogs over the weekend.
I spend a lot of time on Quora reading some interesting questions and even more interesting answers. You can also find me writing some stuff.
The remaining time on the Internet is spent on Twitter, Vocabulary.com, Memrise, Sporcle and random articles on How Stuff Works.
Ah yes, I spend a good amount of time on TED talks and some time on my Coursera lessons.
Without a lot of Social media consumption, I also get a lot of time to prepare for my PMP certification, write a lot of stuff (more on that soon) and work on my long “to read” list of books.
The only thing I am missing from Facebook is some critical updates in the lives of people who matter to me – but anyway I get to know that by other means.
So my Facebook abstinence will get longer and longer….
