There is an innate habit with humans — that manifests itself from early childhood. Learning by watching.
The habit continues well into our adulthood. It also impacts our actions in corporate life.
In my experience across industries, geographies, and culture — learning by watching remains the most efficient way to inculcate expected (or aspired) behavior in teams.
So the onus is on the leaders. Either walk the talk, or skip the talk.
People ignore leaders who don’t go by their talks and ultimately leave, most often quietly, so that the feedback is never received.
Be that leader who leads with action. From whom the team learns by watching.
